The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Tajikistan, Aymyrat Gochmyradov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Khatlon Region of Tajikistan, Davlatali Said, within the framework of the International Tourism Forum ‘Khatlon – The Warm Heart of Tourism.’ This was reported by the news agency Orient.

The parties discussed key areas of cooperation, ranging from agriculture and industry to humanitarian and tourism. Particular attention was paid to the development of interregional ties within the framework of agreements between the khakimliks of the Mary and Lebap velayats and the administration of the Khatlon region.

In addition, the establishment of business contacts between entrepreneurs and the exchange of information on joint projects were discussed.

The symbolic opening of the Magtymguly Pyragy School in the Dusti district on 1 September 2024, attended by the Heads of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan via video link, was noted separately.

At the end of the meeting, mutual interest in expanding trade and economic partnership and launching new joint initiatives was confirmed.
