From 2 to 5 September, the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat hosted a national seminar on the implementation of the 2011 OSCE Vienna Document on confidence- and security-building measures. This was reported by IIC.

The purpose of the event was to deepen knowledge of the provisions of the Vienna Document and to enhance the capacity of staff in the field of verification activities and military information exchange.

Experts from Kazakhstan and representatives of OSCE structures presented key sections of the document, including defence planning, risk reduction and transparency of military activities. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of military information and regional cooperation.

The seminar provided a platform for the exchange of experience between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, including practical simulation of inspection visits. Such initiatives contribute to strengthening trust, transparency and security in the region.
