A representative of the U.S. Department of State paid a working visit to Turkmenistan

A reception was held at the U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan with the participation of Sarah B. Rogers, Deputy Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy. The event was dedicated to issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as cultural and educational exchanges, according to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, Sarah B. Rogers thanked the Turkmen side for the hospitality and noted the results of educational programs implemented with the support of the American diplomatic mission.
According to her, during the visit she met with graduates of joint programs and highly praised their level of English proficiency. The Deputy Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy emphasized the importance of public diplomacy as a tool for strengthening international contacts and developing mutual understanding between peoples.
She also noted that Turkmenistan and the United States are united by respect for the principles of independence, which occupy an important place in the national identity of both countries. As part of the visit, Sarah B. Rogers held meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
