On the initiative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kyrgyz Republic, a bicycle ride dedicated to World Bicycle Day was held in Bishkek on 31 May. Representatives of government agencies, public organisations, diplomatic corps and mass media took part in the action, the IIC reports.

Before the start, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Nury Golliyev addressed the participants, stressing the importance of the event as a symbol of international support for Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at improving health, promoting an active lifestyle and developing good neighbourliness.

It was noted that the establishment of World Bicycle Day was a significant contribution of Turkmenistan to the promotion of universal values and sustainable development.
