OGT 2025 Forum in Ashgabat attracts global energy companies

From 22 to 24 October, Ashgabat will host the International Conference and Exhibition ‘Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan’ (OGT 2025) and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the forum. This was reported by the news website Asmannews. The event is organised by the State Concerns ‘Türkmengaz’ and ‘Türkmennebit’, the State Corporation ‘Türkmengeologiýa” and ‘Turkmen Energy Forum’. More than 1,000 delegates from 60 countries and over 300 companies are expected to attend, reflecting Turkmenistan's growing role in the global energy sector.  A special feature of OGT 2025 is its focus on innovation and strategic dialogue. The programme includes four round tables: two, jointly with SPE, will be devoted to new technologies, digitalisation and innovation in production and exploration, while the other two, supported by ‘S&P Global Commodity Insights’, will discuss global trends, investments and regional cooperation. The forum will also serve as a platform for discussing sustainable energy development and investment prospects in Central Asia. With an increase in the number of participants and companies (45% more than last year), Turkmenistan confirms its status as a strategic partner for international investors. OGT 2025 will bring together business, academia and politics, providing a platform for discussing key issues for the future of global energy.


Turkmen teachers learn nanotechnology in Japan

Two lecturers from the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology in Turkmenistan are undergoing training at the Innovation Centre for NanoMedicine (iCONM) in Kawasaki, Japan, from 1 to 17 October. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The trip was organised as part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the university and iCONM to exchange scientific experience and develop advanced technologies. The iCONM centre specialises in nanotechnology, nanomedicine and nanomaterials. The visit is aimed at improving the qualifications of teachers, developing joint scientific projects and strengthening international cooperation in the field of higher education. The knowledge gained will help to introduce innovative methods in the training of young engineers in Turkmenistan.


Turkmenistan strengthens disease prevention strategy at forum in Macedonia

A delegation from Turkmenistan, represented by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, took part in the fifth Forum of the Regional Alliance for Cervical Cancer Prevention in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The event took place from 30 September to 2 October in Skopje (North Macedonia), according to IIC Turkmenistan. The forum, held with the support of UNFPA, became a platform for sharing experiences and strengthening national strategies in the field of disease prevention. The visit of the Turkmen delegation was organised with the assistance of the UNFPA Representative Office in Turkmenistan and was aimed at studying best practices and modern approaches in the fight against cervical cancer. The participation of specialists made it possible to establish professional contacts, improve qualifications and expand opportunities for improving national programmes.


Prospects for ADB projects in Turkmenistan were the subject of negotiations in Ashgabat

On 2 October, Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov met with Artur Andrysiak, Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Resident Mission in Turkmenistan. During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the ADB. Turkmenistan expands network of modern medical facilities

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to Ashgabat, where he familiarised himself with plans for new medical facilities and held a meeting with relevant officials. Among the facilities planned for construction are multi-profile hospitals in Ashgabat and Tejen, a maternal and child health centre in Dashoguz, and a health centre in the Bagtyyarlyk etrap of Ashgabat. Turkmenistan on the red carpet at the ‘Korkut Ata’ International Film Festival

On 1 October, the ‘Korkut Ata’ International Film Festival of Turkic World kicked off in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan. Turkmenistan enters the international pharmaceutical arena in Pakistan

Turkmenistan to provide for the construction of a mosque in Azerbaijan

Energy and innovation develop relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan

Memon, the new coordinator of the Pakistan’s Prime Minister's Youth Programme, Overseas Affairs, Business and Trade Linkages. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission. During the meeting, the parties discussed the strengthening of trade and economic relations and the implementation of Turkmenistan's strategic energy projects, including the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power line. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan also spoke about the construction of the innovative environmentally sustainable city of Arkadag. Golestan plans to showcase its products at an exhibition in Turkmenistan
