Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a number of key documents
13.06.2026The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has signed a series of documents aimed at developing international cooperation, the oil and gas sector, science, and improving the public procurement system. This was reported by the news website AsmanNews. In particular, the composition of the Turkmen side of the Turkmen–Slovak Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation has been approved, established within the framework of developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Slovak Republic. According to separate decrees, the State Concern Türkmengaz has been authorized to conclude a contract with the Chinese company Julong Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. for the purchase of steel pipes, while the State Concern Türkmennebit has been authorized to sign a contract with Wuxi SP. Steel Tube Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for the supply of casing and drilling pipes for production and exploration wells. The head of state also approved the State Program for the Promotion of Achievements in Science, Engineering, and Technology in Turkmenistan for 2026–2030, as well as the Action Plan for its implementation. The Academy of Sciences, relevant ministries, and agencies have been instructed to ensure the implementation of the planned measures. In addition, the procedure for conducting tenders for selecting suppliers of goods, works, and services for the needs of ministries and agencies of the transport and communications complex has been approved.
Turkmenistan participated in an international trade union forum in Bishkek

Turkmenistan Represented at the C5+1 Critical Minerals Dialogue in Astana
13.06.2026Turkmenistan’s Minister of Industry and Construction Production, Toyguly Nurov, took part in the C5+1 Critical Minerals Dialogue held in Astana and co-chaired by representatives of Kazakhstan and the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia. Turkmenistan Presented Investment Opportunities at a Forum in Turkey

Conference Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence Held in Denizli

A delegation from Turkmenistan is studying environmental technologies in Uzbekistan
12.06.2026An informational and exchange visit is taking place in the cities of Nukus and Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) within the framework of the project “European Union for Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024–2029,” funded by the European Union and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), as well as the “Green Central Asia” initiative. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The visit is being held from June 8 to 14, 2026. It includes representatives of Turkmenistan, among them specialists from the Research and Production Center for Renewable Energy Sources of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the visit is to study international experience in the fields of water, energy, and environmental sustainability, as well as the introduction of alternative energy and biotechnology. The delegation is working in Nukus, where it is holding meetings with relevant scientific institutions and getting acquainted with environmental and irrigation technologies, including solar pumping stations and drainage water treatment systems. Methods for cultivating the microalgae chlorella are also being studied. The program includes visits to the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea region, participation in seminars in Tashkent, and familiarization with practices in water conservation, soil salinization control, and agro-photovoltaic systems. The participation of Turkmen specialists in the project is aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation and developing environmentally sustainable technologies.
Turkmenistan took part in the Fifth Global Media Forum in China
12.06.2026The Fifth Global Media Innovation Forum (5th CMG Forum) was held in Chongqing (China) on June 10–11, 2026. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan Annasakhet Kakaev took part in the event, according to the IIC. The forum was organized by China Media Group (CMG) together with the Chongqing Municipal Government. Around 300 delegates participated, including heads of global media organizations, representatives of international organizations, think tanks, and multinational corporations. The main focus was on the development of artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on the media industry. Participants discussed issues related to maintaining trust in information, improving its accuracy, and adapting media to generative technologies. Special attention was given to the development of international professional cooperation under conditions of technological change. The agenda also included discussions on the “Global South” development agenda, inclusivity, and equal access to digital technologies across different regions of the world. Delegates analyzed the application of artificial intelligence in news production, cultural communication, and social services. The participation of the Turkmen representative reflected the country’s interest in the development of digital technologies and the modernization of its national media system.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan discussed cooperation with the Malaysian Customs Service
12.06.2026The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Malaysia held a meeting with the head of the country’s Royal Customs Department, Amran Ahmad. The sides discussed the state of bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation in trade, economic, and customs areas, according to the IIC. The Turkmen side proposed intensifying the exchange of professional experience between the customs services of the two countries and accelerating work on a draft Memorandum of Understanding in the customs sphere. Malaysian representatives stated that the draft memorandum is currently under review by relevant legal bodies and agencies. Turkmenistan and Austria discussed the development of bilateral relations

During the meeting, the Turkmen side congratulated Elisabeth Weissenböck on her appointment as co-chair of the Austrian part of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The thirteenth session of the commission will take place on June 12 in Ashgabat. The sides noted the high level of cooperation within international organizations, primarily the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Special emphasis was placed on the significance of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to the Republic of Austria, which gave additional momentum to the development of bilateral partnership. Judges from Turkmenistan participated in an OSCE visit to Ankara
12.06.2026From June 8 to 10, 2026, a study visit organized by the OSCE took place in Ankara (Türkiye). The event served as a platform for exchanging experience in the field of judicial reforms, AsmanNews reports. The delegation included seven judges from the Supreme Court and other judicial institutions of Turkmenistan. Participants held meetings with their Turkish counterparts and discussed improving the efficiency of court operations, case management, and the handling of specific categories of cases, including family law. A separate meeting was held with the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye, Kadir Özkaya. The parties discussed improving the judicial system and introducing modern approaches to justice. The delegation also visited the Ankara Court of Appeal, the Court of Cassation, and the Family Court under the Ankara District Court. Issues related to the work of specialized courts and the exchange of practical experience were reviewed. In addition, participants became familiar with the system for training judges and prosecutors at the Justice Academy of Türkiye and the work of the Western Ankara Court. The Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, William Leaf, noted that the visit aims to support the development of the legal and regulatory framework in Turkmenistan and to increase the efficiency and trust in the judicial system. It is expected that the visit will contribute to strengthening professional dialogue between the judicial authorities of Turkmenistan and Türkiye and to the development of international cooperation in the field of judicial reform.
Turkmenistan and Pakistan discussed developing direct textile supplies
12.06.2026The Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkmenistan, Faryal Laghari, and the Chairman of the Nishat Group, Mian Muhammad Mansha, together with a delegation, visited the Turkmenbashi and Ashgabat textile complexes on June 6. They were accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, Togtamuрат Meredov, according to the news website Turkmenportal. The guests were shown the production facilities of enterprises manufacturing home textiles, yarn, and fabrics. The delegation paid particular attention to knitting workshops, where cotton blends are used. Mansha noted the high level of production organization and the significant participation of women in the workforce. Products for both the domestic market and export were also presented, including clothing and textile goods. It is noted that Nishat Group enterprises in Pakistan already use high-quality Turkmen yarn. During the negotiations, the sides discussed expanding exports in the interests of Nishat Group and the possibility of opening retail stores in both countries. The Pakistani side invited a Turkmen representative to visit local enterprises. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to transition to direct supplies without intermediaries.
