Turkmenistan has talked about new achievements in the field of human physiology
14.10.2025Scientific research in the field of human physiology in Turkmenistan is reaching new heights and has already gained recognition from the global scientific community. This was stated at the conference ‘Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Renaissance Era of a New Epoch of a Powerful State’ by Professor Hanns-Christian Gunga, Head of the Center for Space Medicine and Extreme Environments at Charité – University Medicine Berlin, according to the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. The scientist devoted his speech to the impact of climate change on human health. According to him, particularly noticeable transformations are taking place in Central Asia, where rising air temperatures are becoming a serious challenge to the physiological capabilities of the body. Overheating can cause ‘heat stress’ and disrupt a person's internal balance. The professor recalled that last year, specialists from the Berlin Centre held courses in Ashgabat on human physiology in extreme environments. Turkmen doctors, teachers and students familiarised themselves with modern research and developments, after which they presented their own projects and practical solutions for combating heat stress. These achievements were highly praised by international experts. Gunga also noted that the opening of the International Scientific and Clinical Centre for Physiology in Ashgabat and the use of modern technologies will raise Turkmen physiological science to a new level. He expressed his readiness for further cooperation and gratitude to the Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan for organising the conference.
Ashgabat and Moscow signed a protocol of understanding on digital transformation
14.10.2025A Russian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko visited Turkmenistan for negotiations on the digitalisation of the economy and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, according to the online news resource TerraNews. During the three-day visit, Grigorenko met with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyev to discuss joint IT projects, the development of communications infrastructure, information security, and the participation of Russian companies in the creation of data centres. Particular attention was paid to the training of specialists and academic exchange: Grigorenko spoke to students at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics and gave a press conference. The delegation also visited the international exhibition ‘Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Renaissance Era of a New Epoch of a Powerful State’ and museums in Ashgabat. Following the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding on digital transformation was signed and an Agreement on the exchange of experience between the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan was reached. Turkmenistan and Russia discussed prospects for economic cooperation

Foreign doctors highly praised the development of healthcare in Turkmenistan

13 Turkmen universities entered the prestigious world ranking

According to data from the British organisation Times Higher Education (THE), the list includes the country's leading educational institutions, including the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Magtymguly Turkmen State University and a number of other universities. The ‘THE World University Rankings’, published since 2004, are considered one of the most authoritative indicators of university success. The assessment is based on 18 criteria covering teaching, research, research quality, industry engagement and international cooperation. The current edition of the ranking features 2,191 universities from 115 countries, highlighting growing international participation. The presence of Turkmen universities on this list strengthens their prestige and demonstrates the progress of the national higher education system.

Uzbek companies plan to expand exports of medical equipment to Turkmenistan

The mosque in Fizuli as a symbol of friendship between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan

For the first time in the history of Turkic-speaking states, the foundation stone of a mosque, a blessed place for Muslims, was laid jointly. 13.10.2025In Ashgabat, as part of the international scientific conference and exhibition ‘Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Renaissance Era of a New Epoch of a Powerful State,’ the presentation of the 17th volume of the book ‘Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan’ and the publication ‘Achievements in public health services system’ was held, authored by Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This was reported by the state news agency TDH. The event was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, relevant departments, state and public organisations, the media, as well as students. The new, seventeenth volume of Hero Arkadag's scientific encyclopaedia continues the series of works that introduce readers to the rich natural resources and medicinal plants of Turkmenistan used in medical practice. The publication traditionally consists of two sections – ‘Characteristic of herbs’ and ‘Instructions on application’ – and includes detailed information on 107 species of plants with high medicinal properties. The publication examines in detail the properties of medicinal herbs and fruits, including rare endemic species, and describes methods for their collection, storage and preparation of medicinal infusions. A special place is given to a systematic dictionary of plant names, which makes the work an indispensable source of knowledge for specialists and researchers. The new volume of Hero Arkadag's book reflects the continuity of the experience of Eastern medicine and Turkmen folk phytotherapy, carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation.
