Turkmenistan discussed the organisation of events to mark the 30th anniversary of neutrality

On 6 November, under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a regular meeting of the Organising State Committee for the preparation of events to mark the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust was held. This was reported by the state news agency TDH. Members of the government and heads of relevant departments took part in the discussion. Issues related to the preparation of festive events in the country and abroad, as well as organisational and economic aspects, were considered. It was noted that Turkmenistan continues to pursue a peaceful foreign policy and is promoting international initiatives, including the UN General Assembly resolution proclaiming 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, a major forum is planned for 12 December, as well as a whole range of cultural and business events. Preparations include the creation of programmes of speeches, the organisation of receptions for foreign guests, the formation of volunteer groups from among young teachers and students, as well as the provision of high-quality communications and services. Particular attention is being paid to international information support, the preparation of souvenirs and printed materials, and the opening of trading platforms. The symbol of the International Year of Peace and Trust was presented — an image of a green poplar and a white falcon, symbolising neutrality, Peace and Trust. It was noted that this symbolism should be widely used in the design of celebrations and in educational work among young people. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the need for a comprehensive approach, a high level of infrastructure preparation, cultural events and international conferences. In conclusion, the Hero Arkadag visited the venues where the main events will take place and gave additional recommendations on the organisation of guest reception and events.


Turkmenistan has confirmed its readiness to strengthen cooperation with CARICC

On 6 November, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Myahri Byashimova held a negotiation with Director of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors (CARICC), Mahmud Hamidov. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, M. Byashimova congratulated M. Hamidov on his appointment and wished him success in his work. She noted the significant role of the centre in uniting the efforts of the states of the region to combat illicit drug trafficking. The parties confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to continue participating in the development of international and regional cooperation in the field of security, including cooperation within the framework of CARICC projects.


Turkmenistan and Turkey aim to deepen partnership

The Mejlis of Turkmenistan discussed improvements to legislation

On 5 November, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held a meeting to summarise the results of its work for January–October and discuss further improvements to legislation. Turkmenistan congratulated the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences on its 80th anniversary

The event was attended by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, members of the Presidium of the Academy, as well as representatives of the academies of sciences of Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Vietnam, Italy, Bulgaria, Montenegro and international scientific organisations. I. Habibbeyli emphasised that the anniversary contributes to strengthening international scientific cooperation and establishing new partnerships. In his speech, A. Ashyrov congratulated the leadership and staff of the Azerbaijani Academy on its 80th anniversary and noted the growth of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in science, education and culture. During the meeting, cultural and humanitarian projects were noted: translations of Magtymguly Pyragy’s works into Azerbaijani, the opening of the Centre for Turkmen Literature at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, and the holding of international conferences dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet. Foreign participants congratulated Azerbaijani scientists and discussed prospects for joint work in science and innovative technologies.

Universities in Central Asia held a series of meetings on the introduction of the subjects ‘Circular Economy and Sustainable Development’ into their curricula, according to the news website Asmannews. The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management (TSIEM) and the Turkmen State Institute of Finance (TSIF) participated in the work. Bilateral and multilateral agreements, cooperation programmes and protocols were signed, including in the trade, economic, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Of particular importance were the preparations for the International Forum on Peace and Trust in Ashgabat, the promotion of joint infrastructure and energy projects, including the ‘Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India’ gas pipeline, and the strengthening of strategic cooperation in the Caspian region. These events demonstrate Turkmenistan's systematic approach to implementing a constructive foreign policy and developing multilateral cooperation in the international arena.


Turkmenistan participated in the CIS Council meeting on labour issues

A delegation from Turkmenistan took part in a meeting of the Advisory Council on Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the CIS States, held in Tashkent, according to the news website Asmannews.
