The aviation personnel training school of the ‘Türkmenhowaýollary’ agency has reached an important professional milestone by receiving the ‘Trainair Plus’ certificate from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). This prestigious certificate opens up new opportunities for training aviation specialists not only at the national level, but also internationally. This was reported by the IIC. At a government meeting, the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency, M. Chakyev, presented a report on the significance of this achievement. Obtaining the certificate will allow the introduction of modern international training standards, expand cooperation with foreign aviation centres and organise specialised courses under the auspices of the ICAO in 2025. Employees of the Scientific Centre for Strategic Studies at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held an introductory online meeting with representatives of the Global South Centre of Excellence ‘DAKSHIN’ from India. On 25 June, the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and the Kangwon National University of the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding. A delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the VII International Conference ‘Information and Communication in the Digital Age’, which was held from 25 to 27 June in Khanty-Mansiysk as part of the XVI International IT Forum and UNESCO's intergovernmental programme ‘Information for All’. The conference was attended by about 120 delegates from more than 40 countries, including experts in the field of IT, politics, scientists, journalists, as well as representatives of educational and cultural institutions. On 27 June 2025, a working meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Byashimova and a delegation from the British export finance agency UK Export Finance (UKEF), led by Regional Director for Turkey, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Shebnem Alp. Turkmenistan showed excellent results at the Asian Wrestling Championships for athletes under 23 years of age in Vietnam, winning one silver and three bronze medals. From 22 to 25 June, Beijing (China) hosted a stage of the Para Powerlifting World Cup, where the Turkmenistan national team won seven medals, including six silver and one bronze. On 26 June, Turkmenistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov met with Georgian Drama Theatre named after Shota Rustaveli Director Giorgi Tevzadze. By the end of 2025, a modernised ‘Temir Baba’ road border crossing point is planned to be put into operation on the border between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. This was reported by the online publication ‘Business Turkmenistan’. The reconstruction of the checkpoint is being carried out as part of a national project to develop Kazakhstan's transit potential, which was launched in 2018. Particular attention is being paid to the modernisation of checkpoints on the external borders with China, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The project aims to speed up border crossings, ensure security, improve logistics and increase comfort. The checkpoints will be equipped with modern technology and adapted to the increasing volume of freight and passenger traffic. In 2025, the modernisation of the ‘Kaplanbek’, ‘Atameken’’, Kolzhat’ and ‘Alakol’ checkpoints has already been completed. By the end of the year, ‘Kazygurt’, ‘Tazhen’, ‘Temir Baba’, ‘Maykapchagay’ and ‘Bakhty’ are planned to be put into operation.
