Representatives from Serbia, the UAE and Afghanistan purchased licorice, dyed fabric, men's shirts and Portland cement. The total amount of foreign currency transactions exceeded $1.47 million. On the domestic market, Turkmen businessmen purchased licorice extract, base oil, aerated concrete, soapstock fatty acids, and cotton. The total amount of transactions amounted to more than 5.8 million manats.
On 13 July, the 10th International Cultural and Educational Forum ‘Children of the Commonwealth’ was held in Minsk at the ‘Zubrenok’ National Children's Educational and Health Centre, with the participation of a delegation from Turkmenistan. The forum was organised by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS and the Council of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries. The Turkmen delegation presented the country's culture through crafts, music and dance, and also organised a photo exhibition and video presentation dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of Turkmenistan.
On 14 July, the first direct flight from Ashgabat International Airport to the capital Seoul was operated by ‘Turkmenistan’ Airlines. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan. The route is 5,842 kilometres long, and the flight time is approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes. The first flight was fully booked, with 365 passengers on board. According to the schedule, regular flights on the Ashgabat-Seoul-Ashgabat route will be operated once a week on Mondays. The opening of the new route is intended to improve transport accessibility for students, businesspeople and tourists, as well as simplify logistics between the two countries. The new route is part of a strategy to expand Turkmenistan's international air network and strengthen cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the field of civil aviation.
The Turkmenistan wrestling team won five medals at the Asian Junior (under 20) and Cadet (under 15) Championships held in Bishkek. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal. The Turkmen team won one silver and four bronze medals. In the junior freestyle wrestling competition, Dovletgeldi Myradov won silver in the 86 kg weight category. The ‘Arkadag’ Football Club has begun its training camp in the Bulgarian city of Bansko, which will last until 31 July. On 14 July this year, a two-week training course entitled ‘The Caspian Sea – Sustainable Development and Management’ opened in Ashgabat, organised by Turkmen authorities in conjunction with the International Ocean Institute (IOI). The training is attended by specialists from all Caspian littoral states – Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia – representing various fields ranging from ecology and oil and gas to transport and fisheries. On the sidelines of the Wimbledon tournament, the Chairman of the Turkmenistan Tennis Federation (TTF), Eziz Dovletov, held talks with the President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), David Haggerty. The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of a draft memorandum of understanding between the TTF and the ITF aimed at strengthening cooperation in the development of tennis in Turkmenistan. On 11 July this year, the 12th meeting of the High-Level Dialogue on Politics and Security between the European Union and Central Asian countries took place in Dushanbe. The meeting at the level of deputy foreign ministers brought together representatives of the European External Action Service and diplomats from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. 18-year-old Turkmen freestyle wrestler Alp Arslan Begenjov won bronze in the 79 kg weight category at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek among athletes under 20 years of age. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal. In the match for third place, the Turkmen athlete confidently defeated Uzbek wrestler Jorullo Abdufattokhov with a score of 12:1. Earlier in June, at the Asian Youth Championships (under 23) in Vietnam, the Turkmen wrestler won silver in the same weight category. On 10–11 July, a seminar was held in Ashgabat to present the concept of a new UNDP regional project, ‘Enhancing Urban Resilience to Disaster Risks and Climate Change in Central Asia.’ This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.
