Turkmenistan and China strengthen cooperation in digital education
25.05.2025Within the framework of the XXIV International Multinational Exhibition and Conference ‘White City Ashgabat’ on 24 May, Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev held a meeting with Director General of Inspur Software of the People's Republic of China Zhao Shaoxiang. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. According to the source, during the meeting Gurbangeldiev presented the programmes implemented in the country to improve the quality of the education system, including the ‘Concept of Development of Digital Education System’, and stressed the importance of cooperation with China in this area. In turn, Zhao Shaoxiang shared China's experience in digital transformation of education and expressed readiness for cooperation. He also noted the established co-operation with the Turkmen association ‘Aýdyň gijeler’. Following the talks, the meeting participants expressed confidence in further strategic partnership between the two countries.
Ashgabat hosts training as part of BOMCA-10 program
25.05.2025From 21 to 23 May 2025 in Ashgabat in the hotel ‘Archabil’ the training ‘Modern methods of conducting classes’ was held within the framework of the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA-10). It is reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan. According to the source, the event was attended by representatives of the State Veterinary and Quarantine Service, teachers of the Border Guard Service and Institute of the Ministry of Interior, the Training Centre of the Customs Service, the Migration Service and the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov. Following the training, Arslan Soltanmyradov, Head of the International and Scientific Relations Department of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, emphasised that special emphasis was placed on the development of group dynamics, effective management of the educational process and the use of interactive approaches. A distinctive feature of the training was the active use of modern educational technologies, which, according to the organisers, will improve the professional level of participants and the quality of training in general.
Turkmenistan participates in International Conference on Youth Leadership
25.05.2025The international conference ‘Future We Want - Global Initiative for Young Leaders’ was held in Geneva on 16 May 2025. The event was organised by the Italian Diplomatic Academy with the support of the UN and in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported. Speaking at the conference, a representative of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan emphasised the strategic orientation of the country's foreign policy course. The importance of the UN General Assembly's proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust was emphasised. In light of this, the participation of the Turkmen side in the conference focused on the development of youth leadership acquires a deep symbolic significance. The Permanent Mission also presented to the audience a number of national initiatives in the field of youth policy. Turkmenistan took part in the Central Asia-China talks in Beijing

25.05.2025President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the exhibition of carpets and carpet products, as well as the XXV meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs held on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Holiday. The Head of State noted that Turkmen carpets are an important part of the national heritage and are included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The President of Turkmenistan emphasised that carpets reflect the spiritual values of the people, their traditions and national peculiarities. President of Turkmenistan approves purchase of Chinese municipal equipment for Ashgabat
25.05.2025In order to modernise public utilities and improve the quality of public services for the population, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree allowing the Ashgabat city administration to sign a contract with the Chinese company Changsha Zoomlion Environmental Industry Co., Ltd. It is reported by the state news agency TDH. According to the document, within the framework of the agreement it is planned to purchase specialised vehicles, municipal machinery and equipment, as well as spare parts, designed to ensure the smooth operation of municipal services of the capital.
President of Turkmenistan approves construction of new chemical complex
25.05.2025In order to provide Turkmenistan's agrarians with necessary phosphate fertilisers and develop the chemical industry, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on signing a contract with South Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. It is reported by the state news agency TDH. According to the document, the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ is authorised to sign an agreement with a foreign partner for the design and construction of a production complex on the basis of Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S.A.Niyazov. The complex will annually produce 350,000 tonnes of superphosphate and 100,000 tonnes of ammonium sulphate.
UN-Habitat praises Ashgabat's achievements in sustainable development
25.05.2025At the XXIV International ‘White City Ashgabat’ Exhibition, UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacláudia Marinheiro Centeno Rossbach praised the achievements of the Turkmen capital in her video message. She noted that Ashgabat successfully implements the principles of sustainable development, demonstrating progress in creating a green urban environment and modern infrastructure.
