Turkmen entrepreneurs are invited to participate in the TajBUILD 2025 international construction exhibition, which will be held from 1 to 3 October at the new EXPO Centre in Dushanbe with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan. The ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone hosted a Private Sector Forum as part of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3). Last week, 48 deals were concluded with foreign businessmen and Turkmen entrepreneurs at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. The total amount of currency transactions amounted to US$4.038 million. Turkmenistan's business representatives purchased products worth 97 million manats for the national currency. In the first half of 2025, the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port handled 4 million 209.5 thousand tonnes of cargo. This was reported by the online publication ‘Business Turkmenistan’. Of this volume, 2 million 608 thousand tonnes fell on dry cargo berths, and 1 million 601.5 thousand tonnes on oil and oil product transhipment. The main destinations for cargo traffic remain Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Turkmen Transport and Logistics Centre (TULM), the country's leading rail transport operator, has organised the first train on a new international route connecting Turkey, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. As part of the second phase of construction of the ‘smart’ city of Arkadag in southern Turkmenistan, work is continuing on the construction of a large industrial complex, the centrepiece of which will be a modern medical cluster. Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, familiarised herself with the progress of the work and listened to a report from the Chairman of the State Committee for City Construction. The construction project provides for the creation of a multifunctional production centre where medicines, medical equipment and consumer goods, including baby food, personal protective equipment and other products, will be developed and manufactured. On 15 August, entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan signed agreements with Turkmen businessmen on the purchase of cotton yarn on the foreign market. This was reported by the press service of the SCRMET. As a result of the negotiations, two deals were concluded for a total amount of US$1.1 million. The deals are seen as part of strengthening trade and economic ties and expanding export and import operations in the textile industry.
