President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has announced plans to build three large chemical plants in different regions of the country, according to the news website Turkmenportal. A urea production complex will be built in the Balkan velayat, the second phase of a gas-to-gasoline plant will be built in the Ahal velayat, and a mineral fertiliser plant will be built in the Mary velayat. The Head of State emphasised that the development of the chemical industry is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's economy: investments are being actively attracted to the industry and modern technologies are being introduced, which contributes to the creation of new production facilities and the manufacture of products from local raw materials.
At an international exhibition dedicated to Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers' Day, students from the Oguzhan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan presented their developments in the field of alternative food products, according to the online news resource TerraNews. Amandursun Jumayeva, a student at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Ecology, said that young researchers had created dietetic sweets from camel milk using a sugar substitute, making them suitable for people with diabetes and lactose intolerance. In addition, the project participants developed jelly-like teas from plants, syrup from saffron flowers, natural alcohol-free perfumes, scrubs, scented candles and powdered flavourings. According to Jumayeva, Turkmenistan has all the conditions necessary for the development of biotechnology and scientific innovation. She expressed her gratitude to the country's leadership for supporting young scientists and noted that their developments are intended to contribute to the prosperity of the national economy.
Turkmenistan continues to modernise its maritime infrastructure on the Caspian Sea with the help of international technologies. This was reported by IIC. On 14 October, Kim Jun-chul, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Korea, visited the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant, where a joint project is being implemented to build two multi-purpose cargo ships with a carrying capacity of 6,100 tonnes with the participation of the South Korean company ‘Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd.’ (KSIT). During the meeting with the company's CEO, Guychmyrat Amanov, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in the shipbuilding sector. The visit confirmed Turkmenistan's desire to use advanced global experience to strengthen its position as a key transit hub in the Caspian region. Kim Jun Chol expressed his gratitude to KSIT specialists for their high professionalism and contribution to the implementation of the project.
In Turkmenistan, 342 investment projects involving Russian companies worth $3.5 billion are being implemented. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyev at a meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, according to the news website Turkmenportal. There are 38 enterprises with Russian capital operating in the country, including ‘Gazprom’, ‘KAMAZ’, ‘Vozrozhdenie’ and ‘Tatneft’. Russia is one of Turkmenistan's key trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching $1.5 billion per year. N. Atagulyev noted the steady growth in mutual trade and emphasised the potential for further expansion of supplies. ‘The Russian market is one of our priorities, and we are interested in both importing and exporting our products to the Russian market,’ said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan hosted an international exhibition entitled ‘Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Renaissance Era of a New Epoch of a Powerful State’. Along with this, digital initiatives are being implemented, including the ‘Electronic School’ project, the digitisation of educational institutions, and the holding of international Olympiads and competitions. The expansion of international educational ties contributes to the introduction of advanced standards, the development of engineering and scientific fields, and the training of qualified specialists capable of competing successfully at the global level. The CIET 2025 International Conference and Exhibition, dedicated to the development of Turkmenistan's construction, industrial, chemical and energy sectors, will be held in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone from 3 to 4 November. Ashgabat is making significant efforts to promote large-scale initiatives in the fields of energy, transport and logistics, which are of strategic importance both for the region and for the international community, according to the online news resource TerraNews. A Turkmen-Croatian Business Forum was held in Ashgabat with the participation of Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman and a business delegation from leading Croatian companies. As part of the implementation of the ‘Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025’ and the ‘State Programme for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2021–2025’ the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan has introduced a new digital customer system called ‘My Account’, according to the press service of the SCRMET of Turkmenistan. The system is aimed at increasing the transparency, accessibility and efficiency of the services provided. The system allows users to register, manage their accounts, update contact details, configure notification channels and security settings, and quickly track the status of contracts, settlements and financial transactions. In connection with the launch of the ‘My Account’ system, the exchange plans to hold a training seminar at which specialists will explain in detail how to use the system and answer participants’ questions.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyev presented the results of the work of subordinate structures for the first nine months of 2025. The growth rate of services provided by the transport and communications complex was 114%, according to the state news agency TDH. The freight transport plan was fulfilled by 101.3%, and the passenger transport plan by 104.9%. The growth rates in individual departments reached: Ministry of Rail Transport – 105.1%, Ministry of Road Transport – 113.6%, ‘Türkmenhowaýollary’ – 114.9%, Sea and River Transport – 107.8%, Ministry of Communications – 120.1%. After hearing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised the need for further development of the complex and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take measures to increase transport volumes and ensure favourable conditions for international transit.
