From 3 to 4 November, Turkmenistan will host the CIET 2025 international conference and exhibition dedicated to the development of the construction, industrial, chemical and energy sectors. The event will be held in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone and will bring together more than 300 delegates from Japan, Turkey, South Korea, the UAE and other countries. The forum will serve as a platform for establishing partnerships between Turkmen and foreign companies, and for a number of participants, it will be their first visit to the country. The programme includes ceremonies to lay the foundations for new facilities, thematic sessions on smart construction, clean energy and sustainable development, as well as an exhibition of advanced technologies. CIET 2025 is timed to coincide with Turkmenistan's Construction and Industry Workers' Day. Registration for participants is open until 25 October.
The Turkmenistan national team finished the III CIS Games with two bronze medals. The competitions were held in seven cities of Azerbaijan and brought together more than 1,600 athletes from 13 countries. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. The first award for Turkmenistan was won by 16-year-old boxer Hangeldi Lukmanov (weight up to 52 kg), trained by coach Nursahet Pazzyev. The second bronze medal was won by Greco-Roman wrestler Aslan Agadadayev (up to 110 kg), who had previously distinguished himself at the Asian Youth Championships in Vietnam. The Turkmen delegation consisted of 56 people, including 36 athletes competing in seven disciplines, from boxing and wrestling to swimming and taekwondo. At the end of the competition, the Turkmenistan team took eighth place in the overall standings, ahead of Pakistan, Turkey, Cuba, Kuwait and Oman.
On 17 October, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea hosted a ceremony to transfer cultural exhibits provided by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan to the National Asian Culture Center of the Republic of Korea. The collection will be presented at the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the founding of the National Asian Culture Center, scheduled for 25 November. After the ceremony, the parties discussed the further development of cultural cooperation, including the exchange of exhibitions and the organisation of joint events.
On 17 October, during a government meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov reported on preparations for the 30th International Conference and Exhibition ‘Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025’ (OGT 2025). This was reported by the news website Asmannews. More than 70 foreign and about 30 local companies, as well as representatives of relevant ministries, have already registered to participate. About 1,390 delegates are expected to attend the conference. From 10 to 15 October, the WHO Country Office organised a visit by experts from the WHO Regional Office for Europe to Turkmenistan to improve the prevention and treatment of chronic respiratory diseases, including COPD and bronchial asthma. Together with national specialists, the experts reviewed clinical guidelines, adapting them to modern scientific standards, and developed patient-oriented clinical pathways. This will improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment of chronic respiratory diseases. During the mission, training seminars were held on pulmonology, allergology, clinical audit and quality assessment of medical care. The classes were held at the International Physiological Scientific and Clinical Centre, as well as at medical institutions in Ashgabat and Turkmenabat. WHO technical specialists Elena Tsoi and Nino Maglakelidze took part in an international conference dedicated to Medical Workers' Day. The visit culminated in a meeting of the national working group, where the results were summarised and steps were outlined for the implementation of successful practices across the country. The mission was part of a UNDP project to procure medicines and medical supplies to combat non-communicable diseases in Turkmenistan.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Baymyrat Annamammedov presented a report on the progress of modernisation of enterprises belonging to the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ at a government meeting on 17 October, according to the online news resource TerraNews. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that work on upgrading chemical industry facilities is being carried out in collaboration with leading international companies. These measures enable enterprises to achieve their design capacity, increase production volumes and improve the quality of their products. On 17 October, Hemra Amannazarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Austria, met with Stefano Marguccio, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), at the organisation's headquarters. On 17 October, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation held a formal reception dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 80th anniversary of the UN, and the conclusion of the ‘UN Friendship Games – 80’ tournament. Among the participants were representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, diplomats, UN staff, public and scientific figures, journalists and tournament participants. The ‘UN Friendship Games – 80’, held from 4 August to 12 October, brought together teams from diplomatic missions, universities and sports schools. The tournament became a symbol of friendship and sporting unity. Russian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Vershinin noted the high level of organisation and atmosphere of mutual understanding. The speakers emphasised Turkmenistan's contribution to the development of ‘sports diplomacy’ and the promotion of the ideas of neutrality. A meeting was held in Bucharest between Annamammet Annayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Romania, and Anna Ungureanu, conductor of the ‘Madrigal-Marin Constantin’ National Chamber Choir. The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects aimed at promoting the musical and spiritual heritage of Turkmenistan and Romania. The Romanian side presented the Ambassador with a collection of choral works from Central Asian countries, which included the National Anthem of Turkmenistan. From 14 to 17 October 2025, the city of Surabaya (Indonesia) hosted the World Youth Invention and Innovation Award (WYIIA 2025) international competition, which brought together young scientists from dozens of countries around the world. Participants included representatives from Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, China, India, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Iran and other countries. Turkmenistan was represented at the forum by students from the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University, Gadyr Orazberdiyev and Selbi Kerimgulyeva, who presented a project entitled ‘In silico and AI-driven design of novel inhibitors against the 23S gene of clarithromycin-resistant Helicobacter pylori.’ The researchers used AI and computer modelling methods to create new compounds against the bacterium that causes gastrointestinal diseases. The work was highly praised by the jury: the project was awarded a gold medal and the ‘Semi Grand Award’, confirming the growth of the scientific and innovative potential of Turkmenistan's youth.
Magtymguly Turkmen State University hosted the IV International Chemistry Olympiad and the scientific and practical conference ‘The Role of Innovative Technologies in Improving Chemistry Teaching Methods.’ This was reported by IIC Turkmenistan. The events were attended by about 260 students, young teachers and experts from 12 countries, including Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Japan and Europe. The Olympiad was held in two categories: for chemistry students and for those studying chemistry as an additional discipline. More than 120 participants became prize-winners, including 57 medals won by students from Turkmenistan, which confirmed the high level of education in the country. At the same time, the conference became a platform for discussing innovative methods of teaching chemistry. Foreign delegations also visited cultural and scientific sites in Ashgabat, including museums, a science and technology park, and the State Circus, where they saw acrobatic tricks performed on Ahal-Teke horses.
The Arkadag medical cluster will be presented at the Turkmenistan Economy Days in Frankfurt (Germany). This was announced by Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, at a government meeting on 17 October, according to the state news agency TDH. The forum aims to familiarise German businesses with Turkmenistan's investment projects and develop bilateral business ties, including the signing of partnership agreements. More than 50 German companies have registered to participate. The programme covers projects in the oil and gas and chemical industries, agriculture, the textile industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, including a presentation by the ‘Arkadag Medisina Klasteri Menejment’ medical cluster. The events will be attended by industry leaders, banks and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. After hearing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the active development of the country's international cooperation and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to prepare the Days of Turkmenistan's Economy in Germany at a high level to strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties.
