Turkmenistan delegation participates in youth forum in Beijing

A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Ovezov Velimyrat, Head of the culture department of the Magtymguly Youth Organisation, is participating in the International Youth Forum - Dialogue of Youth Leaders for Peace of the CPAFFC in Beijing. At the first session of the forum on 28 July, dedicated to the theme ‘Consensus for Peace: The Voices of Global South Youth Amid Protracted and Escalating Geopolitical Conflicts,’ CPAFFC Chairman Yang Wanming and Myanmar Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Tawng delivered speeches. Participants discussed the contribution of young people to overcoming geopolitical challenges and promoting sustainable development. The programme of the Turkmen delegation's visit includes cultural and educational events, as well as trips to various regions of China.


Turkmen cuisine presented in Osaka

On 26 July, a festive reception dedicated to the gastronomic traditions of the Turkmen people was held at the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan at the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition in Osaka. Turkmen swimmers began their performances at the World Championships in Singapore

Turkmen swimmers David Akopian and Aynur Primova have begun competing at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal. In the 100-metre backstroke, A. Primova took second place in her preliminary heat, setting a new personal best (1 minute 08.05 seconds), but finished 51st out of 56 participants in the final standings. D. Akopian also came second in his 50-metre butterfly heat with a time of 25.66 seconds, finishing 69th out of 97 participants. The Turkmenistan team will continue its performances on 30 July: A. Primova will compete in the 50-metre backstroke, Akopian in the 200-metre medley. They will be joined by Musa Zhalayev, who will compete in the 100-metre freestyle. Seydi Oil Refinery increases production rates

Employees at the Seydi Oil Refinery are demonstrating high production results: the volume of raw materials processed increased by 22% compared to the same period last year and amounted to almost 270,000 tonnes. Turkmen seaport specialists upgraded their qualifications in Malaysia

The event, organised by the Port of Klang with the support of the country's Ministry of Transport, brought together representatives from 15 countries in Central and South Asia, as well as ASEAN countries. During the programme, Turkmen participants deepened their knowledge of port management, studied advanced methods of cargo operations and modern approaches to logistics planning. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience with colleagues from the Port of Klang, which is one of the ten most developed container terminals in the world. This participation contributes to the further improvement of the professional competencies of Turkmen specialists and the strengthening of international cooperation in the maritime industry, which is in line with the strategic objectives of developing Turkmenistan's transport and logistics potential.


Turkmen taekwondo athlete won silver at Asian Championships

Deals worth over $96.5 million were concluded at the SCRMET

Last week, 19 deals were concluded at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. Foreign entrepreneurs from the UAE, Turkey and Afghanistan purchased liquefied gas and urea produced by the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’. Companies from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and other countries purchased textile products, including terry products, cotton yarn and fabrics, as well as purified cotton waste and cotton fibre. The total value of export contracts exceeded $96.5 million. On the domestic market, Turkmen businessmen purchased polypropylene, base oil, mixed paraffin wax (State Concern ‘Türkmennebit’), as well as float glass and cotton yarn. The total value of transactions in national currency amounted to 87.1 million manats.


Turkmen school receives equipment from OSCE

Ashgabat presents methane standard for oil and gas industry

The OSCE Center in Ashgabat presented a new Standard on Oil and Gas Methane to the State Concern “Türkmengaz” and other partners in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan. The document was developed by an international expert and is intended to assist national authorities in establishing uniform approaches to accounting for and reducing methane emissions in the oil and gas industry, in accordance with international standards. As noted by the Head of the OSCE Center, John MacGregor, the initiative aims to support Turkmenistan in fulfilling its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge. The standard is planned to be applied in the work of the State Concerns ‘Türkmengaz’ and ‘Türkmennebit’, as well as other relevant organizations. Two consultations with the participation of state structures were held during the development process.


Students from Turkmenistan completed internship in Romania

Students and teachers from the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan completed an internship in Romania at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, as well as at ‘Tenaris’, ‘Bosch’ and ‘Emerson’, according to the news agency Asmannews. The internship was part of an inter-university agreement and aimed to strengthen knowledge in the fields of telecommunications, automation and programming. International conference in Turkmenistan will serve as catalyst for creating new transport opportunities

In early August, the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea will host the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This large-scale event, initiated by Turkmenistan and supported by 57 countries, confirms the country's growing role in global processes. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. Preparations for the forum are being made at the highest level. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a special decree confirming the organisational aspects of the conference. More than 30 Heads of State and Government, as well as Heads of relevant UN agencies and international organisations, will gather in Avaza. The five-day forum will focus on strategic issues related to the development of transport corridors, deepening regional integration and developing effective macroeconomic models. Experts predict that the conference will not only strengthen multilateral cooperation, but also propose innovative approaches to overcoming geographical constraints.
